CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

I'm currently studying sociology at the faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Chile. I previously studied Philosophy for a year and a half on the same campus (JGM).

In relation to the sociology study plan, I can only give my opinion by observing the following classes and getting an idea of ​​what they will deal with, since I've only been in the degree for 3 semesters, but I see that the study plan is better than before because I know that They made some changes, but I'd also like that during the first semesters they implement a branch on current chilean society since I think it is important to know about this to prepare ourselves for what is coming, in addition to keeping up with the social changes within of our society. Although, I see that in the fourth year there is a branch in relation to this, I think it is essential to know and understand, from now on, social changes in Chile. The duration of the studies is adequate, I think that five years can be dealt with, perhaps four could also be. The academic load must be regulated, there are times when we have a lot of things in a week and in others absolutely nothing, which leads to stress in us and to deliver work under pressure. Without a doubt, it is a relevant issue to deal with in all races.

As for the structure, the faculty for me is neither pretty nor ugly. The old building is cozy but I feel and I would like it to be more modern since that is where we students have access to our classes, libraries, study rooms, etc, so I feel that a little modernization would be great for us and that way we feel at ease in our faculty of study. Although there is a new building, only academics have access to it.

I believe that the technology in our faculty is something that should be improved. The internet connection is terrible, we don't even get internet in most places and that is a problem for the students. The computer rooms are accessible and the computers work well, although I don't use them much, but I think that there should be better technology because today it is essential to have good access to technology.

Although there are things that I think should change and improve, I feel comfortable with the Faculty, teachers and the field itself. For me it is a place where I feel welcomed by friends and teachers and the most important thing is that I'm studying something that I like.
